More details have come in about Ninfia the new eeveelution. The Japanese name is confirmed to be ninfia which follows the naming of glaceon and leafeon thus making the English name most likely "Ninfeon". Ninfia is 1.0 meters tall and weighs 23.5 kilograms. More details to come when I have them.
In other Pokémon related news TPCI has released a free app for iOS devices that allows you to watch episodes of the Pokémon anime on your device. It doesn't contain every episode but cycles through them.
Finally a new game in the Pokémon rumble series has been announced for the WIIU. It will have all the Pokémon up to and including the Unova Pokémon.

Masuda speaks
Junichi Masuda one of the top people at gamefreak talked about Pokémon X and Y on his blog recently. Most of the stuff we already know but there a few new tidbits that are very intriguing. What follows are his words.
------------------------------------------------
We are aiming to deliver genuine entertainment that can be enjoyed simultaneously by people from all over the world.
Never-before-seen Pokémon that will be discovered for the first time by people from across the globe.
Pokémon that are brought to life and look as if they are right in front you.
Stunningly dynamic Pokémon battles.
Breathtakingly beautiful visuals that take full advantage of the 3DS hardware’s power.
An innovate communication system that will make you feel connected with players from around the world as you play the game.
A new battle mechanism that allows your Pokémon to become even more powerful when the bonds you share grow stronger.
A story and music that can be enjoyed by all.
Whether this is the player’s first game, or if he or she is a veteran of the Pokémon series, our goal is to deliver genuine entertainment that will make all players smile, regardless of their age, gender, country, language, or culture.
The Pokémon series has always been more than just a game.
It’s a series that brings people together, and encourages them to get excited and have fun as if they were at a festival.
That is why I wanted to achieve my long-time dream of a worldwide simultaneous release with these new entries to the series.
Pokémon X and Pokémon Y–the evolved sixth generation of Pokémon.
Genuine entertainment that people have been waiting for is here.
October 2013.
I look forward to being able to play with everyone from around the world.
Ciao!

Starter types confirmed.
Today the Pokémon company confirmed that the starter Pokémon chespin, fennikin, and froakie, are pure grass, water, and fire types respectively. No big surprise there as the only starter that was a dual type was bulbasaur being grass/poison. Also the official imperial heights and weights of Yveltal and Xerneas were revealed. Yveltal is 19' tall and 447.5 lbs. Xerneas is 9' 10" tall and 474 lbs. More updates when more is revealed. Until then Catch them all!

Sorry for being a little late in posting this but here you are. The names of the Legendary Pokémon were revealed yesterday not 24 hours after the initial announcement video was released, Xerneas (pronounced "ZURR-nee-us") is the blue elk like Pokémon,
and Yveltal ("ee-VELL-tall") is the red Wyvern like Pokémon.
These are the two version mascots for Pokémon X and Pokémon Y respectively. More info is expected soon so I will update with new info as it becomes available. Until then let me know what your thoughts are about the announcement in the comments below.

The World of Pokémon Evolves!
It's here in October. Generation 6! 3ds! New starters!
New legends!
New region! New style of name! Pokémon X and Pokémon Y!
Watch this announcement video for a glimpse of the gameplay. So to go more in depth into this video the new region looks like it will be based off of France with at least one large city based off of Paris. The region will have at least 9 cities, an Elite 4, a new professor named after a kind of tree, 8 Pokémon gyms(one of them will most likely be a bug type gym), and approximately 100 new Pokémon! Also based on this video there will be Pokémon from previous regions available near the start of the game, and the bike from previous games seams to have been replaced by roller-blades. The gameplay will be 3d and the camera seams to be looking from about the eye level of the character. Battle system looks like it will be the same turn based thing we have come to expect from the Pokémon games but the Pokémon and envionment will be moving and very dynamic, with new animations for all the moves and a camera follow like was seen in Pokémon Battle Revolution. All in all I am very excited for these new games and am pretty sure thich starter I will be choosing and which game I will get. More updates will come when new things are announced but until then enjoy the announcement video and let me know in the comments your thoughts and which starter you would like to start with.
